EROAD is a global fleet management technology company providing telematics, safety, and regulatory compliance solutions for operators of commercial vehicle fleets. EROAD is a hardware-enabled software-as-a-service (SaaS) business: it designs and manufactures its own in-vehicle hardware, including telematics devices, AI dashcams, and IoT sensors, and delivers its services through a connected cloud software platform. EROAD was incorporated in Auckland, New Zealand, on 17 May 2000 as E Road Limited and was renamed EROAD Limited in April 2013. The EROAD platform serves four core outcome areas for fleet operators: regulatory compliance and assurance, health and safety, productivity and fleet management, and sustainability. EROAD's solutions include electronic road user charging (RUC), GPS fleet tracking and telematics, electronic logging device (ELD) compliance for hours of service in North America, fuel tax reporting, driver safety and fatigue monitoring, video telematics, cold chain temperature monitoring, emissions reporting, and asset tracking for trailers and non-powered assets. In 2009, EROAD launched the world's first nationwide GNSS/cellular-based electronic road user charging system in New Zealand, replacing the country's paper-based RUC regime, and EROAD remains New Zealand's leading electronic RUC provider. This regulatory heritage underpins the evidential and financial-grade standards of the EROAD platform across all of its markets.

EROAD operates in three markets: Australia, New Zealand, and North America. The corporate group is structured under a single global parent, EROAD Limited, which operates through regional subsidiaries. In 2021, EROAD acquired Coretex, a telematics company with operations in Australasia and North America, expanding the EROAD product portfolio and customer base. EROAD serves commercial and government fleet operators across industries including freight and road transport, construction and civil engineering, refrigerated and cold chain transport, agriculture and forestry, waste and resource management, government, and utilities.
